| Product Code | 655000 |
| Contents | Buffer, 15 mL Indicator, 10 mL Cuvette, 4 mL Colour chart Instructions for Use |
| Analytical Method | Cuprizon: At the pH of ca. 9 copper ions (Cu2+) form a blue complex with cuprizon (Bis(cyclohexanone)oxaldihydrazone). The intensity of its colour is related to the copper concentration. |
| Number of Tests | ca. 70 |
| Interferences | This test is suitable for freshwater and seawater. Strongly alkaline or acidic samples have to be neutralised before testing. Iron concentrations of greater than 10 mg/L will cause the formation of a brown colour after adding the Buffer. |
| Measuring Range | The standard measuring range is 0.0 – 4 mg/L. The colour comparator has 6 colour fields: 0–0.2–0.5–1–2–4 mg/L. For higher copper concentrations, the sample has to be diluted. A 1:4 sample dilution can be carried out easily, thus extending the measuring range to 16 mg/L. |
| Shelf Life | 2 years |
| Applications | Determination of copper in drinking water; monitoring of copper corrosion; determination of copper concentrations in water storage systems for the control of algae growth; copper in industrial waste water, e.g. from electroplating. |
