Contents Potassium Iodide, 4.0 g
Acid Reagent, 15 mL
Indicator, 15 mL
Titration Solution, 15 mL
Test Tube, 10 mL
Instructions for Use
Analytical Method Iodometric Titration: In an acidic solution, iodide is oxidised to free iodine by hydrogen peroxide. Iodine is then titrated with a thiosulphate solution.
Number of Tests 50 – 80 (depending on peroxide levels)
Interferences Strongly alkaline solutions have to be neutralised before testing. The iodometric method employed in this test is not specific for determining hydrogen peroxide. Other oxidants like chlorine, chlorine dioxide, ozone, chromate, Fe3+, Cu2+ will interfere.
Measuring Range The recommended measuring range is 10 to 100 mg/L (2 – 20 drops @ 10 mg/L) for 5 mL of sample volume. This range can be extended by taking a smaller or larger water sample. For a 2.5 mL sample the measuring range is 20 to 200 mg/L and for a 10 mL sample the range is 5 to 50 mg/L.
Shelf Life 2 years
Applications Determination and monitoring of hydrogen peroxide levels in pools and spas and other applications where residual disinfection levels are required.
